Mold can stain marble bathroom countertops floors etc. If your shower floor is made of marble brown stains might be caused by rust. Mold is a common problem in many bathroom settings. It stains shows dirt and looks worse over time.

If there is a stain though we haven t yet had one in here i make a natural marble poultice from mixing baking soda and water to create a paste smear the paste over the stain and cover it with cling wrap to keep the poultice in place. Spread it onto the stain then cover with plastic wrap sealed with painters tape. Unlike in your kitchen dining room or on your floors you aren t likely to use anything in your shower that will stain the marble tiles. And cleaning marble rust stains is tricky.

Most marble comes that way but double check with the dealer when you re purchasing it or else no amount of cleaning will keep your materials pristine. So things like lemon juice wine some household bathroom cleaners fruits and many other household items chemically react with the marble surface and actually dissolves part of the top surface of the marble. Wash it off after 12 24 hours and the stain should be gone. It seems like it is under the surface of the tile.

If water leaches into the tile it can cause the iron to rust. To remove stubborn stains use a poultice paste. Water stains are yet another common stain that occurs on marble. This stain just appeared on our shower floor a couple weeks ago.

Marble is a porous stone and if it is not sealed it may stain so before you install marble tiles in your shower make sure you ve chosen a sealed version. The tile store i found the tile at says they install marble all the time and have never had a problem help. Can marble be used for shower floors. I am afraid to try anything else.

I thought it was soap scum at first but it is some kind of stain.
